Nose: Direct comparison with the 2021 version with 75% bourbon: here immediately darker sweetness, ripe orange, canned peach, very slightly dirty, leathery sulphur. Lots of maritime saltiness, black olive paste and a hint of smoke.
Palate: Also more voluminous in the mouth, salty and slightly smoky at the start. Cherry sorbet, some chocolate, decent but not disturbing tannins from the European oak. Still nice and malty, "raw" like a real Springbank.
