Nose:You can immediately tell from the nose that this is an older bourbon barrel matured whisky. The aromas are initially rather reserved, mild and are complemented by a delicate smoky note. After the first sip, the whisky opens up in smell and is then clearly recognizable as a well-matured Laphroaig.
Palate:The smoke is more noticeable on the palate, but of course it has decreased significantly compared to younger bottlings. In addition to light fruits, the whisky has a light and pleasant spiciness. The alcohol is well integrated, and in my opinion water is not needed.
Finish:In the rather long finish, the smoke fades after a while, while a pleasant oak spice joins in.
