Nose:It has a striking red color. Port is right up front. Faint chocolate and cherry notes. Half a teaspoon of water and time in the glass releases some more fruit. Time really helps this malt.
Palate:Thin, not complex. Could use some more body and balance. Doesn't taste young. Perhaps just not in the Ruby Port Hogshead for the right amount of time. Oak, brown sugar and white pepper notes abound. Some faint fruit appears at exit. Not at all sweet.
Finish:Finish is long and spicy. Could be richer. Again seems like the final maturation is off.
