Nose:Beautiful peat with a whiff of smoke. Vanilla, bright pears, apples. Buttery mash potatoes and stewed daikon. Quite distinctively honeyed.
Palate:Burnt leaves, charcoal, peat smoke, ginseng roots, with this gorgeous layer of fruits underneath. Ripe apples, pineapples, Korean pears, even some lychees, and a hint of mangos. Lots of honeycomb. This is a very good Bowmore. Mouthfeel is oily and warming. While the fruits are in abundance, they still play second fiddle to the peat and smoke here. Somewhat metallic mid-palate onwards, along with some grapefruit pith. No need to add water -- they make the fruits disappear.
Finish:91 points with water. 92 points without water.
