Nose: Ashy peat. Bonfire. Iodine. Seashells. Coastal and powerful. A sweeter tone at the base. Juicy fruits: white grapes, pears, Ultimately, very Ardbeg. Slowly more caramel, vanilla, floral essence.
Palate: Ashy. A lot more fruits than the nose but still remain Ardbeg overall. Here’s where the Sauternes cask comes into play.
Finish: Long, smouldering bonfire finish. Slowly drying with a touch of coastal peat and white fruits lingering.
