Nose: At the beginning there is a very sweet sherry scent with notes of smoke. The smoke reminds me a lot of cold ash and bacon. There is also spicy oak, sweet malt and a little old leather. If you give the whisky time, the sherry comes to the fore and even drowns out the smoke. After the first sip, the smoky notes from pouring emerge again.
Palate: A very sweet note hits the tongue. There's a little pepper, salty notes and spicy oak all around. When I swallow I have the smoke and the pepper turns into chili. Then it becomes very sweet and fruity again. Here too, the sweetness trumps the smoke, which is very subtle in the background. On the second sip the smoke is much more present.
Finish: A long finish that alternates between sweet sherry notes and smoke.
