Tasting notes：

Nose: Rich fruit on the nose, primarily maraschino cherries and raisins for me. Sweet dark sugar, like the whiff of a pan melting down sugar and butter. A comforting grandparent’s kitchen of a nose.

Palate: The cherries continue immediately, with a squirt of orange between the wave of dark chocolate that follows. There’s milk in that chocolate, but we’re talking 50-60% dark chocolate. Runny honey. The whisky is certainly sweet. A wee draft of toasted marshmallow slips in. It coats your tongue well and after a short while ginger arrives and some woodiness, almost chewy. The official notes say sweetened espresso, but as a non-coffee drinker I can’t speak to that (I may start with a bit of coffee in the interests of understanding whisky tastes better). Delightful!

Finish: The whisky remains pleasantly warming for a good few minutes, with the chocolate becoming darker, closer to 80-90% as the embers fade.
