Tasting notes:

Nose: As soon as the malt is poured into the Glencairn, sweet scents emanate, evoking hope for a wonderfully fruity-sweet whisky. On the nose, the PX and the port casks in particular play out their intensity and present sweet dates and strawberry jam. Behind it are notes of bourbon vanilla and a nutty spiciness; light apricot and vinous impressions. The whole thing also reminds me of a light blossom honey, followed by a delicate note of cedar wood. The alcohol carries the aromas wonderfully into the nose.

Palate: The first sip is now strong, intense, spicy and creamy on the tongue. The Glenallachie is much spicier here than on the nose - you should really like the tannins. With the second sip, the oak wood impressions increase, a slight tingling but also slightly sweet impressions of strawberries and rock candy. The alcohol is noticeable but not unpleasant; occupying. I'll try it again soon with the addition of water.

Finish: The finish is quite intense and long-lasting with strong espresso impressions and tannins that coat the tongue. A slightly tingling feeling and a slight acidity remain; spicy. Without adding water, it can be said that you should definitely like a tart spiciness and oaky notes with this malt in order to be able to agree with this representative. Very tasty for me and not a clogged sweet or strong wine bomb.
